The bayside inn that started it all.
In 1914, the original Old Causeway Inn opened its doors at the gateway to Long Beach Island — a blue-collar gathering spot where bay men, clammers, fishermen and travelers shared a drink, a story, and a meal that tasted of the water just outside the window.
The Inn stood for nearly seventy years through hurricanes, prohibition, and the rise of LBI as a summer destination. When the original was eventually lost, its spirit stayed put — in the marsh, in the memory of regulars, in the way LBI welcomes a stranger like an old friend.
Today, just down the road from where it all began, we honor that legacy: pairing the warmth of an old-time bayside tavern with the craft of a modern steak and oyster house. Same bay. Same hospitality. A new chapter.
